Grain mills        

Buried beneath the “maquis”, restored or still in operation, water mills are relevant elements of the island and the Corsica Cape history. They were built in the 18th and 19th century and were used to mill grains (wheat and rye), but most of all to make chestnut flour, the island society indispensable food until the First World War.
